Caloocan readies for possible surge in Covid cases

Pagpupulong ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan sa pangunguna ni Mayor Oca Malapitan bilang paghahanda sa posibilidad na magkaroon ng pangatlong surge ng COVID-19 cases sa Metro Manila dahil sa mas nakakahawang Delta variant.

Kasama sa pagpupulong ang mga pinuno ng iba't-ibang departamento tulad ng City Health Department, City Command Center, City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, mga hospital ng lokal na pamahalaan, DILG-Caloocan at iba pang mga opisina ng Pamahalaang Lungsod.

As of today, July 26, wala pang naitatalang kaso ng Covid-19 Delta variant sa Caloocan. Samantala, nasa 396 naman ang COVID-19 active cases sa lungsod ayon sa ulat ng City Health Department kahapon.

"Binibigyang pansin natin ang mga pahayag ng ating mga eksperto hinggil sa mas nakakahawang variant na ito. Kailangan handa tayo anumang oras," pahayag ni Mayor Oca.

Kaugnay nito, nagbigay ng direktiba ang Punong-Lungsod na mas paigitingin pa ang isinasagawang mass testing at contact tracing sa lungsod, gayundin ang pagdagdag ng bed capacity sa ating mga ospital.

Muli naman nananawagan ang Punong-Lungsod sa A1-A5 priority groups na magpabakuna na upang magkaroon ng mabisang proteksyon laban sa sakit.
