Mandaluyong promotes safe motherhood program
The City of Mandaluyong continues to prioritize the health and well-being of its citizens through various programs and initiatives. In line with this, Dr. Corinna Katigbak, the Maternal and Neonatal Child Health and Nutrition Coordinator of the City Health Department, gave an update on the Safe Motherhood Program during the weekly program.
The program aims to provide pregnant women with adequate information and services needed for safe and healthy pregnancy and childbirth. The event also had a ceremonial turnover of Buntis Kits and Tetanus Diphtheria vaccines for pregnant women.
In a generous move, Shopee and Lysol donated P300,000 worth of Lysol products to the Mandaluyong City Medical Center and City Health Department. Councilor Botong Gonzales Cuejilo facilitated the donation, and the city expresses its gratitude to Shopee, Lysol, and the councilor for their support.
Congratulations are also in order for the newly elected officials of I Love Hulo, led by Barangay Hulo Kap Bernard Maglaque.
The city also celebrates the outstanding achievements of its young athletes, including Celine Abalos, Leslie Gaite of Barangay Mauway, and the Mandaluyong Karatedo Team, who have brought honor to the city both locally and internationally.
The city also recognizes eight amazing single mothers who raised children with disabilities, from various barangays in Mandaluyong. They were honored as Kahanga-hangang Ina or Outstanding Mother awardees.
Finally, the city greets all the mothers a Happy Mother's Day and celebrates Safe Motherhood Week. Former Chief of Police PCol Gauvin Mel Unos was also acknowledged, and a warm welcome was extended to the new Chief of Police, PCol Cesar Gerente, to the City of Mandaluyong.
