Mandaluyong El Tigre eyes ex-Ginebra stars for next MPBL season
The new Mandaluyong team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League is eyeing former Ginebra stars and former PBA MVPs Willie Miller and Jayjay Helterbrand to play for them in the next season.
Team owner Banjo Calpito said they were looking to tap these two former PBA stars with the intention of leaving an indelible mark in the MPBL.
Calpito played for the Gin Kings more than a decade ago with Helterband, MVP of the 2008 PBA season. Two-time MVP Miller was also a Ginebra player.
Apart from the former Ginebra stars, Capito is also bringing in former pro basketball player Bernzon Franco, who played in last season’s MPBL Datu Cup.
